Qurban
Wājib Qurban commemorates the devotion of the Prophet Ibrahim (a.s.). For Muslims, it is a religious obligation on the days of Eid al-Adha. With your sacrifice, you also help people in need.
What it's about
Qurban is a religious sacrifice. The word roughly means “drawing closer to Allah”. In Islam, sacrificing an animal is one of the most important acts of worship, especially at Eid al-Adha (ʿId al-Aḍḥā). For all Muslims who can afford it, it is wājib, meaning obligatory, to slaughter a sacrificial animal on the days of the festival. Traditionally, a large part of the meat is shared with neighbours, relatives and people in need. In this way, Wājib Qurban strengthens the bond with Allah and the solidarity between people.
Neither their meat nor their blood reaches Allah, but what reaches Him is your piety.
Surah al-Hajj, 22:37
Implementation
The slaughter takes place only on the three days of Eid al-Adha, as prescribed in Islam. Nezir Europe organises it in regions where the need is particularly great, especially in poor areas of Africa and Asia. Experienced staff and trained observers accompany every step.
How it works
From your donation to the distribution of the meat. Everything has to work within a few days, so we plan carefully.
Via the website, by bank transfer or in person against a receipt.
Depending on the type of animal, we divide the donations into groups of 7 shares.
Our teams check the locations for slaughter and distribution in advance.
On the days of the festival, supervised according to Islamic rules and with your intention being stated.
The meat is packed hygienically and distributed primarily to people in need.
