Food aid
A Kumanya is a food parcel for people in need. It contains long-lasting, nutritious food that is easy to prepare. This way people are supplied with the essentials when they otherwise can hardly get food.
What it's about
Kumanya is a food parcel that supplies people in difficult situations with the most important foods. We distribute it above all when people can hardly get food or cannot get it at all, for example after natural disasters or in acute emergencies. The contents are put together to cover daily basic needs as well as possible.
Contents
The parcels usually contain long-life food that is easy to prepare, for example:
Filling staple foods with a long shelf life.
Nutritious food that can be stored without refrigeration.
Clean water is the most important thing, especially in crisis areas.
Quick energy, especially for children.
In some cases also food supplements.
The parcels are easy to transport. This lets us help quickly in crises.
Why it matters
Enough healthy food is one of every person's basic needs. Yet many people do not have enough to eat. According to the United Nations' world food report (FAO, State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2024), around 733 million people suffered from hunger in 2023. That is about one in eleven people. Kumanya helps quickly and directly here. For us at Nezir Europe, it is more than a food parcel. It is concrete help exactly when it is needed.
