Chad is one of the countries with the lowest access to clean drinking water in the world. Many families walk long distances every day to fetch water that is often contaminated and causes disease. Children and older people in particular suffer under these conditions.
By building a new well, we have given the local people permanent access to clean drinking water. The well now reliably supplies families in the area with water for drinking, cooking and daily hygiene. It thus makes a lasting contribution to the health of the community and above all relieves women and children, who previously had to walk long distances.
